Lots of Videos and Pictures
I'm going to start posting the rest of my videos and picture which will take some time (be patient with me, for some reason it takes this website a long time to reformat my videos). I want you all to be warned that they probably will not be in chronological order. I will post the date and subject matter with all of them so no one will be confused. If anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask them!!!!

Back in Sunny South Florida!
I'm home!!! It was a very long week in NY and a wonderful experience.
Saturday night after I posted we went to the Empire State Building. It was freezing but the view was absolutely breathtaking. Sunday before we went to the airport I ate a NY cheesecake for breakfast and then we went to Chinatown which was......an experience lol. The last thing we did in NY was take the subway to Central Park. We all sat in the 40 degree weather, ate hotdogs, admired our Chinatown purchases and relaxed. It was the most beautiful park I have ever been to, although I wish I could have taken a carriage ride. When we were walking back to the hotel to get our baggage we saw Trump Plaza, 5th Ave. Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas, and St. Patricks (it was nice to see all of the people going to church for Easter services).
Dr. Morton showed us all our distinguished delegation award when we landed in Ft. Lauderdale, we were all so proud.
I'm happy to be home resting (I think I slept until 11 this morning). It's back to reality tommorrow.
I still have alot of pictures I was not able to post while in NY because of lack of time (each video takes about 20 mins to upload). Hopefully I will have most of the pictures and videos up by the end of this week, I also have to get the pictures of me (like the one behind the UN podium) that were taken on other cameras.
Keep looking for updates, I hope you all have enjoyed my adventures.

No More WORK!!!!
To start off I just wanted to let everyone know that we (Canada) won a distinguished delegation award for NMUN (YEY!!!!) only about 70 schools won an award and only 30 won distinguished. The only award higher is Outstanding Delegation (which only 17 very experienced schools won. We are all very happy and very proud! This is the first time at the conference for all of us and we all kicked serious butt.
I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday I was really tired. I went out last night to Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center even though I had to wake up this morning to go to the UN to vote. It was really cool to see the board light up with everyone's vote (I made a video). When we voted yesterday in our committee, all 4 of our resolutions passed (I worked on 2 and my partner Nonie worked on 2). The work was well worth it but it's really nice to be done and be able to enjoy the city. Tonight we are going to try to go to the Empire State Building =)
Closing ceremonies were really fun because they were in the actual General Assembly Hall at the UN. I took tons of pictures and I have a picture of me at the podium.
I'll post pics and videos tonight because they take about 20 mins each to upload and I wanna get out and enjoy the city after an intense week.
Thank you all for your encouraging comments this week!!! I love you all and can't wait to show you all of the pics and videos I have because they are more than I could ever possibly post.

The Longest Day.............
I gave a speech today in front of my committee highlighting the working papers that Canada is sponsoring. I got a note from the Russian Federation that said "ROCKIN SPEECH" lol. (maybe I'll post my speech later)
I am so exhausted! I just got back to my room because I stayed after formal session to help facilitate a merger. I am not happy about this merger at all. I have been working with 5 other countries on a peacekeeping and peace-building resolution for the past 2 days (I'd explain it further but it would take a while). It has been submitted and resubmitted and edited as a working paper and our director was finally prepared to make it into a a draft resolution but asked if there was another paper we could merge with (to limit the amount of resolutions). Well there was another res that we were prepared to merge with WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! I went into "aggressive Heather mode" when I felt like our ideas were at stake. Finally at 11:30 we went from a working paper to draft resolution 1/3!!!!!! HOORAY!! Usually you can only submit papers during formal session but our director recognized our work and stayed late so that we could have priority as 1/3. I also have another working paper that should become a draft res tomorrow. We will be voting tomorrow at the end of the day.
In other news I had my first New York pizza today!!! Google had said that John's Pizzaria had the best and I found it today.....definitely in the list of top 5 best pizzas I have ever had. I'm too tired to deal with posting videos tonight but I'll try to have some tomorrow and I'll post a picture of the merger.
Goodnight Everyone!!!
Heather
PS- I promise I will explain everything about committee when I get home.......I know it's confusing!

So tired
Committee went well today. Right now my partner and I are working on 4 resolutions between the two of us. I helped finish a resolution I am co-sponsoring about peacekeeping reform...we got all 33 of our signitories tonight!!! Tommorrow I will begin working on another resolution about environmental agencies with Monteneggro and Sweden. I actually took part of my lunch today (not many people did) Nonie (my partner) and I went to Juniors Diner and I got an awesome chicken salad BLT. Tommorrow is going to be the longest day of my life...I have committee from 8:30-11:30, 1:30-4:30 and 7:00-10:00!!

GO CANADA
I'm here in my room getting ready to go to committee at 2. Last night was soo frustrating, we barely set the agenda and despite our networking did not get the agenda order we wanted (it was those South American countries!). Today we begin work on topic number 2 which is United Nations Reform.
The snow this morning was definitely a surprise!!! We went over to the Europa Cafe on 5nd and Broadway for breakfast. It was across the street from the Late Show with David Letterman.
I have to run and try to catch the confusing elevator (I'll make a video of them soon) I'll try to post later.

The plane and arriving in NY
We left this morning at 5 am, somehow my seat number was 9C and everyone else had seats in the 20s!! Morton switched with me so I didn't have to go through my first flight alone. The flight was ok until we started to circle for landing, at which point I had to focus on not throwing up (I didn't). After we checked into the hotel and unpacked we met downstairs to go have lunch in Little Italy (to make up for the dinner we missed last night). We took the subway, walked through Chinatown, and ate at a very cute little italian restaurant. When we were walking back through Times Square I actually saw the "naked cowboy"!!! Now we're in our rooms getting ready for opening ceremonies at the United Nations. I'm going to the 8th floor for some Starbucks!!! It's gonna be a long night...we start our committees, hopefully we'll set the agenda tonight.
PICTURES AND VIDEOS ABOVE!
Wish me Luck!

Leaving....
Well it is now 2:45 am and I am getting ready for my second attempt at getting on a NY bound plane. It's very odd to have everyone kind of give the "we've already done this before" goodbyes lol. Hopefully the next time I sleep in my own bed will be Sunday =)
Here we go...

CANCELLED!!!!
AHHHHHH!!! Ok so my flight was cancelled at 12:30 =( It's very sad because we lost our one work free day in New York (including our dinner reservations in Little Italy). My new flight leaves at 5 in the morning so I have to be back in Ft. Lauderdale at 3:30 am which in the grand scheme of things is only about 11 hours from now. I'm trying to not be upset because there really isn't anything I can do.....God is in control and everything happens for a reason. All 21 of our party were able to get on the 5am flight instead of having to split up so I am rejoicing in small victories. I'm still going to be in NY for 6 days!!! Talk to you all in a couple of hours.

Waiting in the Airport
Soooooo our plane is late...our flight was scheduled for 9:41 and we are now leaving at 11:53. The delay was caused by thunderstorms in NY. I'm posting video of the airport...I made it through my first security check with flying colors....and no shoes.
It's gonna be wet in NY.........

Leaving in the morning!!!
Hello!!!
So it occurred to me that everyone who would like to see my New York videos as they are posted might not have a facebook. Fortunately for all of you I am a very nice person and I don't want to leave anyone out. I will be posting a video blog of all my adventures right here for your viewing pleasure. Please keep me and my entire delegation in your prayers and enjoy the videos!!
